RIP Paul Schaefer

The Department of Theatre and Dance mourns the loss of Mr. Paul Schaefer on December 8, 2012. Mr. Schaefer, who was the father of Fredonia President Virginia Horvath, was instrumental in helping to establish the Paul and Mary Joyce Schaefer Scholarship Endowment in Theatre and Dance. Since its establishment in 2009, the endowment has helped to assist qualifying students in theatre and dance with scholarships of up to $1,000. Mr. Schaefer regularly attended the annual Scholars’ Breakfast held in late October, where he would always regale the table with jokes and laughter. An affable man who loved life and his family, Mr. Schaefer will be missed by the department, but he will be remembered through his generous endowment that will continue to financially support students for years to come. Our condolences to President Horvath and her family on the loss of this wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and delightful man.
