My final classes at Fredonia

It might be a little ironic for a student to begin writing for their department’s blog on their final day of classes in a classroom at SUNY Fredonia.   But I guess that just shows how I roll.  Introduction- I am Theresa, a senior BFA theatrical production design student.  My focus is on scenic design.  Today is my final day of classes at Fredonia because I will be heading to the Big Apple next semester to take the next leap, with an internship at a theater down there.  How am I able to leave Fredonia a semester early? I only have one class remaining to take- theater history two. When an alum offered that I join her and take an internship I really mumbled and delayed about how I would be leaving my last show assignment as a painter, and I would be leaving the Performing arts company which I have been involved with since my freshman year and the president for the last two years, but she made a very good point- I could be the paint charge for my last show in the Bartlett or I could come to NYC and be an intern but be working with NYC designers.  And as much as I love Fredonia and I have learned so much here, it is my time to move forward and dive in head first and sink or swim at doing this theater thing for real!

Throughout this time I will be blogging about how it’s going! Hence why on my final day of classes I am starting my blogging experience!
