So as some of you may know- not only have I been blogging but I have also been tweeting! I have been tweeting a #adventureoftheday and typically also sending a #fredoniatheaterintern with it as well. (You all can totally follow me at t_pierce37!!) Well this week I had thought I hadn’t had as exciting of a week and there for did not post an adventure of the day. Then lastnight I went through this past week’s pictures and I think I was pretty wrong. I had some cool stuff on my phone! I had gone on a mission to the container store to try to find something to work as a modern projector for when the show switches from 33mm to digital. Then I got to experience the joy of carrying 4 very large bins through the subway and time square and what a fun task that is. I also popped an entire bag of popcorn one brown lunch bag a time!! and continued the mission of shellacing it! I also colored film, yes with markers, countless feet worth in order to get just the right sepia tones we wanted for flickering of a western movie. By the end of the week we scrapped the idea of the bin to be the projector and made one from scratch! I will make sure to post a few pics of it once we finish! Friday was also props move into the space day, because tech started on saturday! I think that amounts to quite a number of adventures of the day. I will work harder to think of how cool some of these things are in the moment in order to keep up on my tweeting!
This week I also was a young artist in the city by after my day shift picking up some late night paint calls. I was working at Classic Stage Company on their production of Passion. Once tech was over, around 10-11 I would go in and work on any paint notes. This actually worked out pretty well because before I started my internship that is where I had been doing some paint calls, so this allowed me to work on most aspects of this set as far as painting goes. (also really cool is that a painter for Passion has also been working here at Playwrights on The Flick!! Small world!)
So this week marks tech week! We have been working hard to complete notes as them come up and I can’t wait to see the preview on thursday!
