Hey everyone!
So today is mostly going to be a rant about how much I love my new kindle and how much more awesome it makes my ability to work on my independent study and enjoy my commutes. As I may have mentioned before while I am doing my internship I am completing one final class at fredonia via an independent study in theater history two. For my first assignment I am writing a paper examining the reflection of society and theater of the time. Part of the assignment is to read a play from english, french and italian playwright during the 18th century. Thank you public domain for making this easy and free! And thank you Kindle for letting me download the books, read them on the go! It is so fantastic! The plays I have chosen are School for Scandal (Hint-hint all my fredonia peeps who haven’t read it yet- its gonna be pretty cool!!), Barber of Seville, and Love of Three Oranges. Most people might find this to assignment to be kind of a drag but I actually really enjoyed myself reading all of the plays. I think its going to be really interesting to see Fredonia doing School for Scandal!
Also apart from some for fun reading books I have also been adding all the scripts for shows I am working on. Its really handy rather than me carrying 2-4 scripts with me. You can also highlight quotes and it pulls them out so I can get back to them later.
Ok, on from what I put onto my kindle- the subway. I thoroughly enjoy taking the subway. Its a good thinking time before and wind-down for after work. Its also a good time for people watching and seeing so much style and personality. It is also a weird phenomenon of a lot of people in a public space but that is generally a silent experience, until there are obnoxious teenagers doing flips and cartwheels at 2 in the morning… I am finding now that I am reading on the train that I have to work a lot harder to not get sucked into my books and not miss my stop. And I will admit that I did get on a local train rather than an express train so I had a longer time to read….
